How this was calculated
- The checker uses normalized catalog facts: NAS supported drive sizes, supported storage interfaces, and supported drive types, versus the drive form factor, interface family, and HDD/SSD class.
- SATA, SAS, and NVMe/PCIe are separate interface families. They are not treated as interchangeable.
- M.2 in a NAS interface list is treated as a form factor, not as proof of NVMe.
- Bay count, hot-swap, M.2 slot count, and listed maximum total capacity are shown as planning facts. They are not used to pass or fail a single drive.
Limitations
- Passing these rules means the drive meets known physical and interface requirements only.
- This does not prove vendor certification, firmware support, a compatibility list, or warranty coverage.
- Missing catalog data stays unknown. Unknown is not a failure.
- Vendor 'compatible products' strings in this catalog are not drive-model lists and are not used.
